Rebranding after 25 years of excellence

Central to CTO’s design philosophy is a commitment to excellence, quality, and craftsmanship. We knew their visual identity should be no different.

We first worked with CTO Lighting on a rebrand in which the brief was to evolve their existing brand identity, which held great sentimental value, without completely replacing it. When designing their evolved logo, we maintained brand continuity by tracing the old logo's shape and incorporating it into a modern wordmark. We reimagined the shape as an abstract representation of a light bulb—a nod to the core of CTO Lighting's business.

The bulb within the logo can also be used as a standalone icon, providing versatility in branding applications. The result is a refreshed and refined logo that not only respects the brand's heritage but also enhances its modern appeal.

We next worked on their colour pallet. Their previous black-and-white scheme caused their lights to blend into the background. We therefore developed a new tonal colour palette inspired by the noble materials used in their fixtures. This updated colour pallet compliments their lighting, whilst ensuring the fixtures themselves remain the focal point and stand out beautifully.

b2b ecommerce with a twist

We designed and developed an innovative B2B e-commerce website that brings the brand's exceptional craftsmanship and innovative design to life in a seamless experience. The website offers a seamless and inspiring experience for CTO Lighting's discerning customers, primarily interior designers and their clients.

The site functions as a beautiful digital showcase, allowing visitors to explore CTO Lighting's exquisite range of products in a visually stunning and user-friendly environment.

While the website operates similarly to a traditional e-commerce store, it intentionally omits pricing and direct transactional features, focusing instead on a curated browsing experience. Interior designers can use the website as a source of inspiration, exploring the high-quality lighting fixtures and the noble materials that define CTO Lighting's collections.

The platform features an intuitive "add-to-cart" function that allows users to build a basket of products they are interested in. This collection can then be submitted for a personalised quote, providing a tailored and customer-focused service experience.

By blending the functionality of a catalogue with the interactivity of an e-commerce site, the CTO Lighting website serves as both a creative resource and a practical tool for interior designers and their clients, enhancing their ability to select the perfect lighting solutions for their projects.

We extended CTO Lighting's luxurious brand identity into their catalogue and packaging design, creating a cohesive and sophisticated presentation across all touchpoints.

For the catalogues, we developed a luxurious lookbook-style format with premium print finishes, perfectly suited to grace the coffee tables or bookshelves of interior design studios. The catalogues feature minimalistic layouts, inspired by high-end fashion magazines, allowing CTO Lighting's products to take centre stage.

The packaging design emphasises tactility and materiality, matching the sophistication and quality of the products it houses. This approach not only reinforces the brand's luxurious image but also aligns with CTO's practises as a carbon-neutral business, demonstrating their dedication to environmental responsibility across all aspects of their operations.

We continue to collaborate closely with CTO Lighting as an extension of their marketing team, providing comprehensive growth marketing support to ensure that all brand activations are consistent and on-brand. Our partnership covers a wide range of marketing services, including social media management, paid media advertising, email marketing, and blog writing and more.

We manage CTO Lighting's social media presence, curating engaging content that showcases their products and brand values, and fostering a strong community of followers. Our paid media advertising campaigns are carefully crafted to target the right audiences and maximise reach, driving awareness and engagement for CTO Lighting's offerings. In addition, we develop and execute email marketing strategies that keep customers informed and inspired.
